The village of Venasque is perched on the northern slopes of Vaucluse mountains, with a view of the Comtat venaissin, and the Mont Ventoux. The north of the town is made up of cultivable land in the valley. The south, more in relief, extends over the mountains of Vaucluse. The main crops in the town are vines (table grapes: Muscat du Ventoux and wine production) and cherries.

Venasque is accessible by the departmental road D4, since Carpentras, to the north-west, or Walls, in the Vaucluse mountains; to the south, via the Col de Murs. The closest SNCF station is that of Carpentras, served by TER, connected to a bus station.
