The town of Vercelli is located in the Po Valley, at an altitude of 130 meters, northeast of the Po and on the banks of the Sesia. The entire area surrounding the city is flat and rich in rivers and canals, including the Cavour Canal, which provide abundant irrigation of the land essential for rice cultivation. The city is located halfway between the cities of Milan and Turin.
