The Via Danubia has existed as a long-distance cycle path in Bavaria since 2001. The first section was the route from Bad Gögging above regensburg to Passau. Then in 2006 came the Swabian section of Gunzburg above Lauingen to Oberndorf am Lech to. The route follows in the footsteps of the Romans along the Danube.
