Gunzburg is a city on the Danube and is the administrative seat of the district of the same name. It is in the administrative district Swabia in the Swabian baroque angle.

The city of Günzburg is located at the confluence of the Günz River into the Danube. The historic city center is on the right bank of the river, the city area extends to the other side of the river into the Donauried.
