- The Sauternes AOC vineyard is located in Sauternes, at 50 km~ south-east of the city of Bordeaux on the left bank of the Garonne - It is part of the Bordeaux vineyard which includes all the vines of the Gironde department, in the southwest of the France in the region New Aquitaine

Sauternes AOC vineyard
- Only the wines produced by the communes of Sauternes, Fargues, Bommes, Preignac and Barsac have the right to bear the prestigious name of Sauternes; but the winegrowers of Barsac can declare their harvests under the name of Sauternes or Barsac indifferently.
