Villaputzu, rises on the south-eastern coast of the Sardinia, in the Sarrabus region, between the mouth of the Flumendosa, the hills and the sea. Its panoramas, its history and its traditions are characterized by these natural elements: the hills, the lake areas along the mouth of the Flumendosa and the sea. The town winds along the main street (where there are also the most important services), Via Nazionale, which is a stretch of the main arteries of Sardinia: the SS 125 "Orientale Sarda" road which connects Cagliari to Olbia. The nearest beaches (about three kilometers) are connected to the town by a short stretch of provincial road, flanked by the explosion of color of the oleanders, which crosses a fascinating lake panorama.

The best time to visit Villaputzu is from March to the end of October: the mild spring and autumn climate allow countless excursions both on the coast and inland. From June to the end of September the sea is to be enjoyed and there is something for all tastes: wide and long beaches, small coves easily accessible and set among the rocks, stretches of cliffs a little more challenging but spectacular in colors and for the clarity of the sea, connected by well-marked paths to the road. August is certainly the busiest month that also offers important musical events such as the famous "Festival delle Launeddas" and the feast of the Madonna of the sea.
