Waldkirch is a city in Breisgau, she lies in Elz Valley. The city has received several awards for its project Soft vacation, so it was among others by the BUND in 1999 as Recommended tour operator designated. Waldkirch is the first town in Baden-Württemberg to join the Cittaslow- Movement for a better quality of life.

- 1 Collegiate Church of St. Margarethen. The first church was built in 926, the current baroque building dates from the 18th century.
- 2 Elztal Museum (Probsteig building in St. Margarethen), Kirchplatz 14, 79183 Waldkirch. Tel.: 49 (0)7681 478 530. - Remains of the city wall, historical buildings
- The 3 Kastelburg has been a ruin that is still worth seeing since the Thirty Years' War. It is located near the train station about 100 m above the city, is on-going Renovation works not always accessible.
- The 4 Schwarzenburg ruins is located south of the city at an altitude of around 650 m and offers a good view.
- The 5 Gemstone cutting in the rooms of the company Wintermantel, Elzstraße 2, (Tel. 49 07681/60 14), the last establishment of this type, can be visited on Tuesdays from 10:30 am from May to September.
