The Weissenhauser Beach is a seaside resort on the Holstein Baltic Sea coast. It is mainly known for its large theme park.

background

Politically, the Weißenhäuser Strand belongs to the street village of Wangels, which is otherwise completely insignificant for tourists. In the early 1970s, an investor built a huge amusement park with 1,200 beds and all sorts of activities out of the ground here. Especially in summer, the otherwise deserted area becomes a small town and music festivals are even held.

Incidentally, the direct neighbor of Weißenhäuser Strand is the Bundeswehr, which operates a military training area right next door. The military vehicles that drive on the main road and would definitely not get an environmental badge can sometimes be a nuisance.

getting there

Next trainyard and Long-distance busstop (Flixbus) is 7 km away Oldenburg in Holstein. From there it continues with the Dial-a-bus Ostholstein (daily 8 am– 7.30 pm, order at least 45 minutes before the desired trip on 04362–90525 or order.anrufbus-oh.de) or taxi. Alternatively, you can use Avis in Oldenburg also rent a car.

The Weißenhäuser Strand is easily accessible from the motorway A1 to reach. The next connection point is Symbol: AS 10 Oldenburg in Holstein-Mitte, from there the route is signposted. Finding a parking space can be a serious problem, especially in the high season, as the number of parking spaces does not do justice to the immense number of overnight guests and is sometimes quite tight, especially for those who drive a family car or even an SUV.

The leads through Weißenhäuser Strand Baltic Sea Cycle Route. It is 68 km from Kiel, from Neustadt i. H. 73 km.
