At Frýdlant
The Witka (German: Wittig) is a 50 km long wild mountain and tributary of the Lusatian Neisse in the southwest Poland in the voivodeship Lower Silesia and him northern Czech Republic. It arises in the Jizera Mountains at the foot of the Siechhübel. It first flows through the Czech Republic and then passes the Polish border Frýdlant at Zawidów. Eventually it flows through Poland, where it is dammed in the Witka reservoir. Then flows south of Zgorzelec to the Lusatian Neisse.
Run
The Witka rises in a high moor on the slope of the Siechhübel. The lower reaches of the mountain river can be traveled by canoe or kayak. As there are numerous rapids, the ride is not easy. The river is also valued by sport anglers.
