The Jizera Mountains are the headwaters of the Jizera (Jizerka), des Queis and the Lusatian Neisse. The highest mountains are the Wysoka Kopa (Hinterberg, 1126 m, summit in Poland) and the Smrk (table spruce, 1124 m, summit in the Czech Republic) crowned by a lookout tower.
history
The Jizera Mountains lie between the historical regions Lower Silesia and Bohemia.
landscape
The Jizera Mountains are a floe that slopes steeply on the north side. The landscape at the edge of the break is characterized by spruce forests and stony hills, further to the south there are many moors, most of which are under nature protection.
Flora and fauna
Coniferous forests predominate in the Jizera Mountains.
climate
The climate in the Jizera Mountains is rough, humid and cool. Damming clouds from the west lead to high precipitation, which collects in the moors and lakes of the Jizera Mountains. In winter there is guaranteed snow due to the cold microclimate.
