Gryfów Śląski(German: Greiffenberg) is a city in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship at the foot of the Jizera Mountains at the Queis. Their location makes them next Świeradów-Zdrój and Mirsk the most important center of tourism in the Polish part of the Jizera Mountains. The town is the starting point for hikes in all parts of the Jizera Mountains. The Queis is a popular canoe river.

The place was created in the 13th century and was granted city rights in 1354. In the age of Polish particularism, the place came to various duchies, most recently to the Duchy of Schweidnitz-Jauer, which became fief-dependent from Bohemia in the second half of the 14th century. During the Hussite Wars and the Thirty Years' War, the city's residents suffered a lot. In 1742/1763 the place came to Prussia. The textile industry developed here in the 19th century. In 1865 the city was connected to the rail network. The place continued to develop, with the exception of the times of the world wars. In 1945 he arrived Poland.

From Dresden the A4 leads to the border, then leave the motorway at the first exit and continue to Jelenia Góra.
