Bohemia - Böhmen

Czech Republic can be divided into two major tourist regions. Bohemia and Moravia with Silesia.

Regions

• South bohemia with the Šumava National Park im Bohemian forest

• West Bohemia with the bath triangle Carlsbad, Marienbad and Franzensbad, as Pilsen

• Central Bohemia with the golden city Prague

• North Bohemia with the national park Bohemian Switzerland and the largest natural sandstone bridge in Europe, the Prebischtor.

• East Bohemia with the national park Giant Mountains and its peak Schneekoppe

• Marienbad with its huge cast iron colonnade.
• Carlsbad with its unique architecture.
• Pilsen with the tallest bell tower in the Czech Republic.
• Prague, the capital and cultural metropolis.
• Marian pilgrimage site Svatá Hora near Příbram, 50 km southwest of Prague.
• Hradec Králové, known from the battle of Königgrätz.
• Pardubice, the city with many Renaissance houses.
• Špindlerův Mlýn (Spindleruv Mlyn), a winter sports resort in the Giant Mountains.

The area name Bohemia probably originated from Latin boio-hemum = Home of Boier, which in the course of time honed in Bohemia. These were an immigrant tribe of the Moravier, from today's Moravia, which established itself here where once the Marcomans, a suebischer Tribe of Germanic peoples inhabited.

• The Fairytale castle Hluboká near Budweis.
• The Cast iron colonnade in Marienbad in Marienbad.
• The Prebischtor, the largest natural sandstone bridge in Europe Hřensko on the Elbe.
• The Schneekoppe, the highest mountain in the Czech Republic
