Yingkou(Chinese: 营口 市/ 營口 市, Pinyin: Yíngkǒu shì) is a coastal city in Manchurian province Liaoning. It is located about 220 km north of Dalian and about 200 km south of the provincial capital Shenyang.

background

After this Peace treaty 1858 Newchwang / Niúzhuāng / Niu-chuang (牛 莊鎮) belonged to the treaty ports to be opened. It soon turns out that the chosen location was not suitable in the long run. The port was moved a good forty kilometers down the course of the Liáohé (遼河) towards the sea. The “new” city is now called Yíngkǒu (營口). The old Niúzhuāng would be in the area of today's city 1 HǎichéngHǎichéng in the Wikipedia encyclopediaHǎichéng in the media directory Wikimedia CommonsHǎichéng (Q1011073) in the Wikidata database (海 城). After the establishment of Dalian 1898 and a few years later it joined the Trans-Siberian Railway Maritime trade lost its importance here.

In the 4970 km² urban area - about as large as Vorarlberg - More than 2½ million people live. The Zhanqian districts form the actual inner city (Chinese: 站 前 区, Pinyin: Zhànqián qū) and Xīshì (西 市区). The southern part of the latter consisted of extensive salt pans. Rapid expansion of industry and the container port in the Bàyúquān (鮁魚圈 區) district allowed the city to grow. From a purely touristic point of view, little is offered.
