Zell am Harmersbach is a small town in Middle Black Forest. To Zell a.H. the formerly independent municipalities of Oberentersbach, Unterentersbach and Unterharmersbach belong as districts.
background
Zell a.H. was once a free imperial city, even if the smallest of them all, as the people of Zell confidently say of themselves. Numerous buildings worth seeing have been preserved from that time, even if a city fire in 1904 destroyed some of the half-timbered buildings forever. They have been replaced by Art Nouveau buildings, and together with the older buildings in the old town, they are listed as historical monuments.
The Harmersbach forms a wide side valley on its lower course Tiny. After the confluence of the Nordrach it changes its name and is called Erlenbach.
The city of Zell a.H. forms the holiday region together with the neighboring communities of Oberharmersbach, Biberach and Nordrach Brandenkopf, It is named after the 945 m high summit of the mountain east of Zell.
