The Middle Black Forest is a largely forested low mountain range in southern Germany on the eastern side of the Upper Rhine Rift. Here you will find the well-known Glottertal, which became famous through the television series "Black Forest Clinic".
The highest mountain in the region is the 1241 m high Candelabra, which offers a good panoramic view due to its secluded location.
Regions
The central Black Forest is bounded in the north by a line between the cities Achern and Horb, the southern border is through the cities Freiburg in Breisgau and Donaueschingen marked. In the west the Rhine plain forms a natural border, in the east it is the overflowing one Greater Stuttgart.

- Candelabra - At 1241 m, the elevation is the highest mountain in the region. Due to its secluded location, the Kandel offers a good panoramic view. - Brandenkopf - On the 945 m high mountain (48 ° 20 ′ 19 ″ N.8 ° 9 ′ 13 ″ E) has been a 29 m high observation tower since 1929. On a clear day, the view from up here extends from the Vosges in the west to the east to Swabian Alb. With very good visibility you can even see the Alps in the south.
