The city of Wolfach is located at the mouth of the river wolf in the Kinzig. It was founded around 900 years ago and was owned by the Fürstenberg family for a long time from the 14th century. In 1806 Wolfach came to Baden. The districts have belonged to them since 1975 Kirnbach and Kinzigtal to Wolfach.

The district of Kirnbach belongs together with Appraisal and Reichenbach to the three villages in which the red boll hat is traditionally part of the costume.

Neighboring communities in the Ortenaukreis are Hornberg, Appraisal, Hausach and Oberwolfach. The neighboring one Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach is located in the district of Freudenstadt, Thigh cell and Schiltach belong to the district of Rottweil.

By train

The 1 Wolfach station is on the Kinzig Valley Railway. She joins Hausach from the Black Forest Railway and goes to Freudenstadt. The next ICE stop is in Offenburg.

In the street

The B294 comes from Hausach and continues to follow Schiltach and Alpirsbach. The L 96 connects Wolfach via Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach With Freudenstadt.

By bicycle

The Kinzigtal cycle path and the Black Forest cycle path run along the same route through Wolfach.

The city of Wolfach is connected to the rail network of the Kinzig Valley Railway, which runs along the Kinzig to Freudenstadt and on the opposite side to Offenburg. Bus routes take you to the surrounding area.
