Zuid-Hollandse Eilanden (literally southern Dutch islands) is a territory of the Western Netherlands being part ofSouth Holland.

To know

These islands are immediately north of the islands of Zealand. Although they have a common history, they are not part of that province.

  • Bernisse - Water-rich holiday resort excellent for fishing, swimming, surfing and boating.
  • Brielle - A beautiful village with old fortifications. It played an important role in the Eighty Years War.
  • Goeree-Overflakkee - Tourism is largely centered on the seaside resort of Ouddorp.
  • Hellevoetsluis - A fortified city with its protected city center.
  • Hoeksche Waard - Small villages in a green polder.
  • Spijkenisse - The largest city in the region, a suburb of Rotterdam.
  • Westvoorne - Dunes and peaceful bathing facilities.
