Flevoland - The newest province of the Netherlands completely made up of "conquered" land.
North Holland (Noord-Holland) - The most visited, with Amsterdam and traditional rural villages.
South Holland (Zuid-Holland) - The most densely populated region filled with rural landscapes such as polders, tulip fields, dunes, islands, lakes and agricultural areas.
Utrecht province - Rivers, lakes, nature, some historic cities.
Urban centers
- Alkmaar - Historic town, popular for its cheese market.
- Amsterdam - A real magnet for tourists thanks to its impressive architecture, the romantic canals (grachten), the museums and the transgressive nightlife.
- Delft - Perfectly preserved historic city with traditional buildings, canals, bicycles and the famous blue and white ceramics.
- Dordrecht
- Gouda - Known for its cheese of the same name which you can buy in the dairy market.
- Haarlem - 17th century city center with numerous museums and shops for shopping. Reachable by bike from the capital.
- The Hague ('s-Gravenhage or Den Haag) - World legal capital, seat of the Dutch government and royal family.
- She give (Leiden) - Historic student city with one of the oldest universities in the country. It also offers three national museums.
- Rotterdam - Modena architecture, and one of the largest ports in the world.
- Utrecht - Historic and university city. It houses the Rietveld Schröder House, a property protected byUNESCO.
Other destinations
- Broek in Waterland - Charming village between canals and gardens, one of the most visited gods Netherlands.
- Muiden - Village about fifteen km from Amsterdam, famous for a suggestive medieval castle that guards the mouth of the Vecht river.
