Ülemiste is a district of the city of Tallinn.

To know

Ülemiste is the district developed around the international airport of Tallinn. It is a modern, rather banal area, where various companies are based, mostly international freight forwarders. The neighborhood is unable to compete with other tourist areas of the capital Estonian such as the center, the old City, Kalamaja, Kadriorg is Pirita but it is good for transit passengers or for those who have missed the plane. The area has in fact a couple of large shopping centers, hotels and clubs that make it suitable for those who have decided to stay overnight near the airport.

Ülemiste overlooks the northeastern shore of the lake of the same name, the water reservoir of Tallinn. It is part of the Lasnamäe district, a popular residential area with no interest for passing tourists.
