The Land of the Moths is located in Apuseni mountains, Romania on the upper river basin ARIEŞ and Crisul Alb. It includes parts of the current counties white, Arad, Bihor, Cluj and Hunedoara. A portion of the region is part of Apuseni Natural Park. The land of the Moţi traditionally begins at Bistra, before rustic, formerly called Topan by moţi or Topfesdorf by the Austrians, considered traditional the capital of the moţi, and the villages on the Arieș River, towards Turda (Lupșa, Sălciua etc.) are inhabited by shepherd
