Augustusburg is a small town in Saxony and is east of Chemnitz.
getting there
Railway from Chemnitz / Flöha or Annaberg-Buchholz with the Zschopautalbahn to Erdmannsdorf; there change to the cable car.

Funicular
The train from 1911 connects Erdmannsdorf (with train station) in the Zschopautal with Augustusburg on the height. With a length of 1237 m, it overcomes an altitude difference of 168 m.

- Fares: One way: € 3.50 (reduced € 3.00); Ascent and descent: € 4.50 (reduced € 4.00), children up to 14 years of age accompanied by parents or grandparents free. Bicycles are also transported for free (data status 12/2007)

- Hetzdorf Viaduct (9 km north) - the 43 m high and 328 m long railway bridge was replaced in 1992 by two completely new concrete bridges further north. Today it is part of a hiking trail.
- Zschopau (11 km south) - city of motorcycle construction.
- Oederan (15 km northeast) - "Klein-Erzgebirge", the oldest miniature park in Germany.
