Aversa is an Italian city of the Campania, in the province of Caserta.
To know
Aversa is the most populous town in the province where it is located, after the capital. It is also home to the Diocese of Aversa and an excellent buffalo mozzarella is produced. Aversa also hosts some offices of theUniversity of Campania Vanvitelli (former Second University of Naples) and the North Naples Court.
Geographical notes
Aversa is located in the center of the territory known as Agro Aversano, south of the province of Caserta. The territory is mainly flat and urbanized, but there is no lack of small open spaces scattered around the city, such as the Pozzi park. Aversa reaches a high population density (more than 5,000 inhabitants per square kilometer), since despite its small size (8.85 square kilometers) it exceeds 53,000 inhabitants. Aversa has only one fraction: Ponte Mezzotta. The latter is located south-east of the city, has about 100 inhabitants and is not very extensive.
When to go
It is advisable to go to Aversa in the winter and spring periods when the climate is favorable, because in the summer periods a hot and arid climate expands. However, it should not be underestimated that in winter there is often fog or frequent rainfall

By car
Aversa is connected to other internal roads of the neighboring countries. For example, those coming from the towns east of Aversa must take the Via Atellana; those coming from the south must cross the small hamlet of Ponte Mezzotta; those coming from the west must cross Via Luigi Pastore and Strada Porta San Giovanni; those coming from the north must cross Via Filippo Saporito and Viale Europa.
On the train
East of the city of Aversa (on the border with the municipality of Gricignano of Aversa) there is the train station of the city connected to the railways of Naples and neighboring countries.
By subway
Aversa hosts the last two stations of the only Italian regional underground (the Naples-Giugliano-Aversa). The first station is the Aversa Hippodrome and the last one is Aversa Center. This railway is interconnected with the "line 1" of the Naples underground.
By bus
In Aversa there is a trolley bus connected to Naples and its province.

By car
In the city it is possible to move by car. Sometimes on weekends and public holidays it is impossible to cross Via Roma by car, as it is put up as a pedestrian street for people who come to visit the city.
On foot
As already mentioned before, on weekends and holidays, Via Roma becomes a pedestrian street. Via Roma you can reach the most important attractions of the city, including the Arco dell'Annunziata, Piazza Municipio (where the municipality is located) and the Parco Pozzi.
What see
- 1 Arch of the Annunciation (At the beginning of Via Roma). The Arch of the Annunciation is the main historical monument of the city of Aversa which was built by the Angevins.
- 2 Via Roma. It is the main street of the city where there are countless shops and clubs. On weekends and holidays it becomes a pedestrian street. To be seen absolutely during the Christmas period when it is decorated with lights. Via Roma also leads to the main attractions of the city.
- 3 Town Hall Square. It is the square where the Town Hall is located. Around there are various bars and clubs and in the center there is a statue dedicated to the deceased in the Second World War. Sometimes events are also organized in the center of this square.
- 4 S.A. Park Wells (or simply Parco Pozzi). It is the main open space in the city. It is found immediately after the end of the course. Inside there are vast streets where you can stroll under a wonderful pine forest. Also on the outside, the road is surrounded on both sides by flower beds and small trees.
