The city Bad Bibra lies in the Saale-Unstrut region in the south of the state of Saxony-Anhalt and is part of the spa triangle there Bad Kosen–Bad Sulza- Bad Bibra. Among these places, Bad Bibra is the one with the oldest spa tradition. The Biberbach, a small tributary of the Unstrut, which runs 5 km to the northeast, flows through the village.

The valley, which was completed in December 2006, is 3 km to the west Saubachtal Bridge overstretched. The 248 m long and up to 40 m high prestressed concrete bridge is a double bridge over which the Erfurt – Leipzig / Halle ICE line is to lead.

- Eckartsberga (12 km south) - small town on the border with Thuringia; Eckartsburg and Maze.
- Nebra (Unstrut) (13 km north, B 250) - near the place where the Nebra Sky Disc was found; Castle ruin.
- Rossleben (17 km northwest, B 176 to Saubach, turn right there) - in Roßleben, upstream from Nebra, the monastery school, the fourth oldest school in Germany. Wiehe, with its permanent model railway exhibition, is also near Roßleben.
- Bad Kosen (19 km southeast, via Klosterhäseler) - brine springs and graduation tower, not far away is the Rudelsburg.
