Bad Ditzenbach is a community in Helfensteiner Land at the foot of the Swabian Alb.

background

The place Ditzenbach was first mentioned in a document in 861. The mineral springs have been known since the 15th century, and the Ditzenbach mineral baths a little later. In the 18th century they were caught and the water marketed. Ditzenbach has been a state-approved spa since 1929.

During the municipal reform around 1975, the previously independent municipalities became Auendorf and Gosbach incorporated. The district Auendorf had in earlier times under the name Gooseless the reputation of one Fool's village.

Neighboring places in the district of Göppingen are Drackenstein, Mühlhausen in the valley, Gruibingen, Gammelshausen, Heiningen, Schlat and Deggingen, the adjacent places Nellingen and Merklingen are in the Alb-Danube district.
