Bad Durrenberg is a city in the southern Saalekreis in the German state Saxony-Anhalt. The city is south of Merseburg.
background
The city was first mentioned in a document from Otto I. 993.
In 1741 the first borehole for brine was dug. There is still a graduation tower near the former fountain.

By car
Bad Dürrenberg is about 5 km away from the Motorway A 9 connected via the descent of the same name (exit 18). The L 187 crosses the city from west to east. The L 183, coming from the north, ends in Bad Dürrenberg.

Bad Dürrenberg has a train station on the route Leipzig–Weissenfels.
By tram
Bad Dürrenberg can be reached via tram line 5 from Kröllwitz in Halle (Saale) from over Schkopau, Merseburg and Leuna reachable. The line runs every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 60 minutes on weekends. The distance is about 30 kilometers and can be used for a sightseeing tour through Halle and the southern Saalekreis.

- Lützen (9 km southeast, B 87), the Swedish King Gustav II Adolf was killed in the Thirty Years' War in the Battle of Lützen. At Großgörschen, 6 km southeast of Lützen, the first battle of the Wars of Liberation against Napoleon took place in May 1813. In the district Skirts is the house where the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche was born.
