background

The small town Bad Lauchstädt is southwest of Halle (Saale), right at the Halle-Süd motorway triangle. With its spa facilities and the Goethe Theater, it is significant as part of German cultural history. Bad Lauchstädt used to be the summer residence of the Dukes of Saxony-Merseburg, of whom Duke Christian I built the palace around 1660. The seaside resort flourished temporarily at the beginning of the 19th century, when the Weimar court under Karl August, accompanied by the Weimar Acting Society, often stayed here for summer.

getting there

Bad Lauchstädt is via the A 38 Leipzig - Goettingen reachable. The departure is Symbol: AS 23 Bad Lauchstädt. The triangle closes to the west and north Hall south the A 143 to Halle-Neustadt at. When the A 143 will finally be completed and thus the ring around Halle will close is currently not foreseeable. Until then, those arriving directly from the direction of Magdeburg willy-nilly tormenting through Halle - or he chooses a more scenic, but much more time-consuming route, e.g. via Wettin at the Saale.

Since the train service on the Schafstädt - Bad Lauchstädt - Merseburg line was discontinued in December 2014, the nearest train station has been in Merseburg, approx. 10 km east. Buses run.
