Bad Heilbrunn is a climatic health resort in Tölzer Land.

In 1159 monks from the near found Benediktbeuern near the hamlet of Steinbach a spring with salty water. It soon became widely known for its healing properties. In 1253 a church was built on a hill next to the spring; today the parish church of St. Kilian stands on this site. In 1530 Steinbach was first visited by a Bavarian duke and couple. After the successful cure of the Electress Adelheid of Savoy in 1659 Steinbach became Royal Bavarian court bath. After the secularization, the spring came into the possession of the Bavarian state, soon afterwards it became private property. It has been named after 1832 Adelheidquelle. In 1912 the source was sent to the Jodquellen AG sold. In 1934 the place was declared a spa Steinbach has been Bad Heilbrunn.

In the last few years the owner of the source, the Electress GmbH based in Bad Tölz and the municipality of Bad Heilbrunn to differences. Kurhaus and Wandelhalle have been closed for a few years, the title Spa has been replaced by the predicate Climatic health resort.

  • Herbal adventure park and spa gardens at the guest house. The area is freely accessible. The approximately 2 hectare park has old trees. A biotope pond, two streams, the Witch circle and herb terraces. Some beds have been planted and labeled after Benediktbeurer receptionist from the 13th century.
