- Segeberger Kalkberg: To come to the point: The 91 m high limestone mountain does not consist of limestone (= calcium carbonate), but of gypsum (= calcium sulfate). The originally 110 m high mountain was removed by the gypsum mining up to 91 m. The remains of the Gipsberg have been under nature protection since 1930, after gypsum had previously been mined for centuries. Incidentally, the hill was formed before the last ice age. At that time, a salt dome lying under the elevation had pushed the gypsum deposits upwards. The elevation is still growing by 1-2 millimeters per year.
- Show cave in Kalkberg: The limestone cave is accessible as part of a guided tour. In winter, bats use the cave as winter quarters, so it is only accessible in summer. For more information, see the Adventure exhibition Noctalis - World of Batswhich is of course also worth seeing.
- Old town: Worth seeing town houses can be seen in the Lübecker Straße. Here also has that Local history museum its seat in a half-timbered house from 1616. It shows inter alia. a collection on the city's history.
