Neumunster is in Schleswig-Holstein the fourth largest city and therefore relevant as a transport hub. The city on the swale was founded in 1127 and has been of great importance to the textile and leather industry ever since. In addition to the beautiful Old town Neumünster has many shopping opportunities, such as the Holsten Gallery and the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

Due to the central location in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, the so-called horse city is easy to reach. Hamburg is in the south, the state capital Kiel north of Neumünster and also the border to Denmark at Flensburg is only about an hour's drive away.

Hamburg Airport is about 60 km south of Neumünster. Almost all European countries and some overseas destinations can be reached from here. There is a direct bus connection (Kielius). - The 2 Lübeck Airport(IATA: LBC) (also Hamburg-Lübeck called) will be served by scheduled flights from Munich and Stuttgart again from August 2020. It is still open to business and sport pilots.

Einfelder See
- Einfelder See. The Einfelder See is located in the north of Neumünster between the village of Mühbrook and the district of Einfeld. There is a small inflow from the Dosenmoor into the lake, there are no other noteworthy tributaries. This is why the lake is almost completely fed by groundwater and precipitation. The Einfelder See has an area of 168 hectares and is therefore one of the larger lakes in Schleswig-Holstein. The nature reserve "Westufer des Einfelder See" is located on the western bank. Since 1987, 13 hectares have belonged to the nature reserve and offer many waterfowl opportunities for retreat and protection. There are beach sections with sunbathing lawns at the Einfeld village bay and the east side of the lake. On the south-eastern side of the lake, some clubs have boathouses. Driving on the lake with canoes and kayaks as well as rowing and sailing boats is permitted. Stone sculptures are set up on the north-eastern beach to emphasize the harmony between nature and art.
- Canned moor. The Dosenmoor nature reserve is located in the north of Neumünster. It is the largest and best preserved raised bog in Schleswig-Holstein. The circular route of the 521 hectare area takes 120 minutes on foot and 30 minutes by bike. Since the 18th century, peat has been used by farmers in the Dosenmoor. Since industrial peat mining with large machines only affected the southern part for 10 years, the Dosenmoor with eight to nine meters of peat thickness in the central area is still very well preserved. On the other hand, in the northern part and in the peripheral areas, the landscape is characterized by numerous peat hollows. The northern part of the nature reserve offers several circular routes and contains both benches and a nature trail along the boardwalk. In contrast, the larger southern part is reserved for nature and undisturbed development.
- Neumünster Zoo. The Neumünster Zoo is a zoo in Neumünster. On 24 hectares of forest area, more than 700 animals from 100 100 species of mammals, reptiles and birds are housed. The animals include alpacas, barbary macaques, polar bears, Humboldt penguins, maned wolves, seals and a petting zoo with goats and sheep. There are both feedings and public tours. Certain animal species, such as goats or fallow deer, may be fed with feed from the zoo. There is a large adventure playground, barbecue areas can be reserved and various events take place throughout the year. The zoo is handicapped accessible with barrier-free toilets and well-paved paths that are suitable for wheelchairs. Dogs are welcome in the zoo on a short leash and there is a dog agility trail.

- Bad am Stadtwald. The Bad am Stadtwald is a swimming pool in Neumünster. There are different pools inside. There is a swimming pool with a floor whirlpool, massage jets, gargoyles and a heated outdoor pool. There is a children's pool with, among other things, a slide. There is also a course pool with a gym, a swimming pool with diving tower (1, 3, and 5 meters) and an adjacent non-swimmer pool. There is one in Schleswig-Holstein unique convertible hall with movable roof. There is also a 90 meter long water slide with real-time measurement and lighting effects.
