Barinas is one of the federated states of Los Llanos in Venezuela.

Geographical notes
Located in the southwestern part of the country it borders to the north with the states of Mérida, Trujillo, Portuguesa is Cojedes, to the south with the state of Apure, to the east with the Guárico and to the west with the states of Mérida and of Táchira.
Among the reliefs, Calderas (3,900 m a.s.l.) and Don Pedro (3,790 m a.s.l.) stand out, but much of the territory is hilly and flat.
