Bramsche is a city in the district Osnabrück in Lower Saxony.
background
Custom lies on the northern slope of the Wiehengebirge (the one with the Mountain range you shouldn't put on the gold scales, at the top it reaches 320 meters above sea level), which here merges into a swamp area in the transition to the North German Plain. The Mittelland Canal runs here today.
The legendary one probably took place in the Kalkriese district around 9 AD Varus battle instead, as indicated by numerous archaeological finds.

The nearest commercial airport is Munster Osnabrück Airport(IATA: FMO)but has few connections. The one a little further away has a wider selection Hanover Airport
(IATA: HAJ).
The Achmer airfield in the district of the same name is ideal for private pilots, about 4 km southwest of Bramsche.
By train
At the 1 Bramsche station The Nordwestbahn lines stop every hour Osnabrück–Oldenburg–Wilhelmshaven and Osnabrück–Bremen. From Osnabrück you drive 15 minutes, from Oldenburg 1:10 hours, from Bremen 1:50 hours. Those who come from further afield will usually change trains in nearby Osnabrück.

Bramsche has a junction on the A1 motorway (Bremen – Münster – Dortmund).
By boat
If you want, you can take your boat to Bramsche via the Mittelland Canal in the south of the city. However, there is no commercial passenger transport on the canal.
By bicycle

- 2 Museum and Park Varusschlacht Kalkriese, Venner Strasse 69 (Bus X275 runs several times a day from Osnabrück Hbf directly to the museum park). Extensive exhibition and documentation center in the Kalkriese find region, which many historians assume to be the most likely site of the Varus Battle.Open: Tue-Sun 10 am–5pm.
