Regions
particularities
Like all Austrian motorways, the "Brenner Autobahn" is also vignette required! However, the route toll does not apply here (on the Austrian access routes to the Inntal Autobahn), but a special special toll (EUR 10 per one-way route in 2020, which is generally paid at the Schönberg toll station; cheaper with a subscription). Information on tolls and current traffic reports ASFINAG
The mileage count (and the counting of the connection points at the same time) begins near Innsbruck and rises to the top of the pass (at an altitude of 1375 m).
traffic
The motorway is one of the most heavily frequented Alpine crossings. The Brenner Base Tunnel, which is currently under construction, is intended to provide relief. The gradient is up to 6.1%.
