Bruehl is a community in the Electoral Palatinate, it lies in the Rhine plain. The district belongs to the municipality of Brühl Rohrhof, it was incorporated in 1878.
background
The first written mention of Brühl comes from the year 1157, at that time the place belonged to the Prince Diocese of Speyer. In the 15th century the place became the property of the Electors of the Palatinate. In 1803 Brühl came to the Grand Duchy of Baden.
The one at the Straightening the Rhine created around 1840 Koller Island is on the left bank of the Rhine, but belongs to Brühl and thus to the state Baden-Wuerttemberg. It serves as a landscape protection area and is not populated.
