Geographical notes
The municipality of Cadegliano Viconago extends along the State road 233 Varesina, inside the Valmarchirolo. The altitude of the municipal area varies from a minimum of 250 m to a maximum of 983 m.
It borders to the south with the village of Marchirolo and to the north with Lavena Ponte Tresa.
When to go
The location on the border with the Switzerland and proximity to the Lake Maggiore, to Lugano is Milan, do not place particular limits on the seasonality of the visit to the country.
The continental climate reserves a cold winter with many frosty days.
Background
In 1893 the hamlet of Campagna, aggregated to the municipality of Cremenaga, was detached from the municipality of Viconago. In 1908 the hamlets of Cadegliano, Gaggio, Argentera and Doneda, erected as an autonomous municipality with the name of Cadegliano, detached from the municipality of Viconago. In 1928 the municipality of Viconago was aggregated to the new municipality of Cadegliano Viconago.

By plane
Coming from the south, fromw: Milan-Malpensa Airport, the second international hub for traffic at national level, 59 km from the center of the country. Take the ss 336 towards Varese, taking the E62, toll road, towards Varese. At the crossroads with Gravellona Toce keep to the right along the A8, covering it entirely up to Varese, and then following the signs for the ss 233 Varesina.
Coming from the north, from Lugano-Agno Airport, located in Agno in the Swiss territory, 9 km from the town center. Take the cantonal road towards Italy, entering the border of Lavena Ponte Tresa, and taking the ss233 Varesina towards Varese.
