By car
The easiest way is to reach the Cevennes by car. This can be done via the Autoroute du Soleil (the A7/E15) but this is a very busy road in high season. It is often a detour via the A75/E11 (from11 Clermond Ferrand nasty Montpellier) but faster, because you avoid traffic jams.
By train
Driving from Paris a train to the Cevennes, the Cevenol. Once there, it stops at numerous places and one only slowly reaches the destination.
Travel around
Public transport is almost non-existent. Hitchhiking is an option and the residents easily take hitchhikers with them because they know that public transport cannot be counted on.

The Cevennes are spoiled for choice with numerous long-distance walks, the Grand Randonnées.
- the GR70 or the Stevenson route: from Le Puy-en-Velay nasty Ales. This is named after the trip that the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson made with a donkey. You can also rent it to follow in his footsteps.
- the GR7: by Saint-Chamond nasty Lodeve
- the GR72: by Le Col du Bez nasty Barre des Cevennes
- Le Cevenol: a tour in the Cevennes.
