trips
- Upper valley of the Río Neuquén. The upper valley of the Río Neuquén offers breathtaking mountain landscapes with curious multicolored rock formations, volcanoes, geysers and highland lakes as well as the first piece of the typical Patagonian wet forest. Andacollo is the center of the region with 4,000 inhabitants, other places are Huinganco, Las Ovejas, Varvarco and the thermal spa Villa Aguas Calientes with less than 1000 inhabitants. A car is highly recommended as the buses only go to the main towns, otherwise you can also take a taxi (quite expensive) to more distant destinations.
- Tromen volcano. The volcano is about 50 km north of Chos Malal. The area is very sparsely populated, the village is a possible base Buta Ranquil (90 km north).
