It is a fraction of the municipality of Olginate.
Until all the fifties of the twentieth century Consonno, even if far from the center of Olginate, had managed to live thanks to crafts and the cultivation of its fields.
Following the construction of the sixties and seventies of the twentieth century for the creation of the "city of toys" and a landslide that occurred in 1976, the town has become a ghost town.

By car
A4 motorway: exit Agrate Brianza, then Usmate Velate, Merate, Cast, Nava and Consonno.
How to get around
| ATTENTION: Today Consonno is in a state of neglect and decay. Many of the remaining buildings are unsafe and access is not recommended for safety reasons (as well as the fact that much of the place is privately owned). |
The municipal roads are passable on foot, while vehicles have been prevented from passing through two poles positioned one at the beginning of the one that goes up from Olginate and the other about a kilometer from the town along the one that comes from Villa Vergano. Both poles are raised from the week following the Burollata in the month of October until Easter day every Sunday from 10 to 12 while in the rest of the year always every Sunday and from 10 but until 19.
