North Dakota - state in the north Of the United States, in the area of the Great Plains. To the west it borders with Montana, from the south with South Dakota, from the east with Minnesotaand from the north with Canada (Manitoba). The relief is mostly upland. The state covers an area of 183,111.62 km² and in the year 2000 had 642,200 inhabitants. The state capital is the city Bismarck. The largest city is Fargo.
