Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen is a community in Hardtwald in the Upper Rhine Plain. It belongs to the district of Karlsruhe.

getting there

By plane

By train

The community has had no rail connection since 1967. The former Hardtbahn from Karlsruhe to Graben-Neudorf was converted from 1986 to the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn S1 / S11 (already from 1979 on the district KA-Neureut), re-routed from Leopoldshafen and is part of the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV). Both lines run through the city center and via the main train station to Ettlingen. To the north, both lines lead to Hochstetten, but no longer to Graben-Neudorf. See also chapter mobility.

In the street

Both sub-locations have a direct connection to the B36 (from Karlsruhe towards Mannheim). Autobahn connection to A5 and A65 only via the Karlsruhe or Bruchsal exits.

By boat

Ferry connection (also by car) across the Rhine to the Palatinate Leimersheim.

The tram line goes through both suburbs S1 / S11 of KVV, at times there is a through car directly into the KIT Bus route 195 of the KVV from Stutensee / Blankenloch (connection to DB and to S2 of the KVV) leads via the south gate of the KIT to Leopoldshafen; temporarily up to the Rhine ferry.
