Falkenstein is a small town in southwest Saxony.

Falkenstein has had town charter since the 15th century and since the great fire of 1859 a chessboard-shaped structure with architecturally beautiful, numerous buildings from the Wilhelminian era. A big company in town was that Falgard in the 19th and 20th centuries, dedicated to the textile industry.
