Velturno(Italian: Velturno) is a South Tyrolean Community with approx. 2,800 inhabitants, it is located on the right side of the Eisack valley and administratively belongs to the district community Eisack Valley.

The place belongs to the community of Femdthurns 1 Velturno as well as the districts 2 Schnauders, 3 Pedratz, 4 Schrambach, 5 Tschiffnon, 6 yarn and several other homesteads.
Feldthurns is also known as Chestnut village: more than 3,300 sweet chestnuts grow here. They are especially beautiful in the flowering period of June / July and in autumn, when the Keschtniglburst open. Their brown shiny fruits, called Keschtn, were once called poor people bread designated. You will be at Törggelen together with new wine (Nuien) and served with bacon. In addition, you should refrain from collecting the ripe chestnuts as they are the property of the farmers even when they are lying on the ground.
