Fridingen is a small town in Baden-Wuerttemberg. The state-approved resort is located in Upper Danube Nature Park in the Donaubergland.

Fridingen was first mentioned in a document in 861. The place received city rights in 1372, and for many years it belonged to Upper Austria. In 1806 Fridingen came to the Kingdom of Württemberg.

Sinking of the Danube
There are some places in the south of Fridingen 4 River bed where the water of the Danube sinks into the karst rock and comes back to light several kilometers further on.
At the 5 Confluence of the Bear the river is dammed with the Danube, part of the water is passed on through a tunnel and operates at the other end of the river bend 6 Hydroelectric power plant.
