General Pico is a city in the province of The Pampa, head of the Maracó department and second in importance after the capital Santa Rosa. Founded in 1905 by Don Eduardo de Chapeaurouge, a prominent surveyor of the time, its name refers to General Eduardo Gustavo Pico, who was governor of the province (at that time national territory) in the 19th century.

Near the city is the "Delfín Perez Recreational Park" (ex La Arocena Lagoon,) of approximately 150 hectares of surface, suitable for recreational activities, nautical sports and fishing.
