The Tour of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo is a hiking trail that develops around the mountain, on the border between the provinces of Bolzano and of Belluno, in one of the most beautiful views of the Alps.

Introduction

The entire circular route is divided into 5 stages and lasts 4 hours. Part of the route is affected by theAlta Via of the Dolomites n. 4, that gives San Candido comes to Pieve di Cadore.

When to go

Spring is recommended, especially the month of June and the months of September-October. Better to avoid the summer, due to the presence of many tourists.

How to get

The Three Peaks are best accessible from the south. There is also a large car park at the Auronzo refuge.

By car

  • A22 Brennero motorway: Bressanone exit. Take the SS 49 della Val Pusteria direction Dobbiaco. After the town, take the SS 51 and in Carbonin and follow for Misurina.
  • From Auronzo di Cadore is Misurina, in summer on a double-lane asphalted panoramic road with toll (car € 30, motorbike € 20, camper € 45): from Misurina take the SS48 road and go up for 7 km, arrive at the barrier, pay and continue to the parking of the Auronzo Refuge (open until October) .

By bus

  • From Dobbiaco There are shuttle bus which in 50 minutes lead to the Auronzo refuge (fare € 15 return) Dobbiaco can be reached by train from Lienz in Austria or Fortress on the Brenner route.
  • From Misurina in bus.

Safety

As with all mountain hikes, it is important to carefully study the route before setting off, carefully evaluate the weather conditions and notify someone of the route you intend to take.
