Gjógv is a village of the Islands Faroe Islands.
To know
It is a village located on the northeastern tip of the island of Eysturoy 63 km north of the capital by road Tórshavn.
The village gets its name from a 200m long gorge that runs north towards the sea from the village.

The sloping railway
For tourists and nautical natives, the port in the gorge is also a well-known site of exceptional natural landscapes.

The sloping railway operates a narrow-gauge line from the low-level harbor inside the gorge, up a steep incline to the upper village boathouses.
