Haidmühle is located in the far east of Bavaria at an altitude of over 800 meters and is particularly popular with Czech guests. The holiday resort of Bischofsreut has also belonged to Haidmühle since 1978, with a height of 980 meters and a winter sports center for almost a thousand.

The next train stations are in Grafenau and Passau. Passau is easier to reach by train, but has poorer bus connections.
From the Czech side, trains run to the Nové Údolí border station right in front of Haidmühle.
By bus
Traveling by public transport is like traveling around the world. You have to go from Grafenau or Passau Waldkirchen and there change to bus 501 to Haidmühle. The bus to Haidmühle only runs on weekends as an on-call bus with advance notice. There is connection to the tourist Ilz Valley Railway.
