Urban centers
- Harbin - Founded in 1897 by Russians committed to building a branch of the Trans-Siberian railway, Harbin is the capital of the northernmost of the provinces Chinese and has preserved some monuments from the time of Russian domination. With a very severe climate, Harbin hosts the snow and ice festival in the middle of winter.
- Acheng - One of the nine districts of Harbin.
