Isnello is a city of Sicily.
To know
Isnello is a city that is part of the Madonie Park.
Geographical notes
The watercourse, called Isnello, which descends from the Madonie, laps the town to the north, to wedge itself into a suggestive narrow canyon formed between the hill of the castle and the steep wall of the Montagna Grotta Grande.
How to orient yourself
The urban layout is clearly of Arab origin. Narrow alleys with sudden changes in slope. Developed at the foot of the castle, it gradually expanded to form the four districts separated by two axes arranged roughly in a cross: the corso and via Carmelo Virga and via Roma and S. Maria. At the crossroads stands the main square, where the mother church stands with its towering bell tower. To the east, the neighborhoods arose in the nineteenth century.

- 1 Mother Church of San Nicolò, Via Matrice, 2, ☎ 390921662008. The mother church dedicated to the patron saint St. Nicholas of Bari appears to the visitor in the layout given to it between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century. The apse is decorated with stuccoes dated 1607, the work of Giuseppe Li Volsi from Nicosia. Valuable is the mechanical organ whose furniture dates back to 1625, commissioned by Giuseppe Coccia, a local patron who also commissioned the decoration of the chapel of the Addolorata, the patronal chapel of his family, of the chapel of the SS. Sacramento, the wooden machine of the High Altar of the Church of San Michele Arcangelo and various works in the Sanctuary of Gibilmanna. Also interesting are the sixteenth-century marble Tabernacle near Domenico Gagini, the wooden choir of 1601 by Giuseppe Di Maggio and Giacomo Mangio, the wooden statue of the Patron Saint Nicholas, dated 1689 (attributable to Giovanni Pietro Ragona), the wooden Crucifix by Giuseppe Li Volsi of 1619.

Giuseppe Piraino, the sixteenth-century statue of San Michele, the canvas of SS. Ten thousand martyrs by Martino Russitto from Palermo, the exquisite wooden Crucifix from 1627 (?) - 5 Church of Maria SS. of the Rosary, Caduti Square, 1. Built on the Piano della Porta, probably transforming the ancient Church of Sant'Elia, the Church of the Rosary with the fifteenth-century Altarpiece attributed to the Flemish Simone de Wobreck. Formerly the church of the Dominican Convent (founded in 1475), when the convent was used as the palace of the Lords of Isnello in the late sixteenth century, the church became its palatine chapel, and the chapel of St. Joseph, in which a triptych was kept , now lost, it was used as a mausoleum.
