Geographical notes
It borders to the west with the France through the Western Alps, north with Switzerland is Austria through the Central Alps, to the east with the Slovenia and to the south with the Tuscany, the Marche and the small state of San Marino. Northern Italy is bathed by the Ligurian Sea and the Adriatic Sea, on it extends the Po Valley and is crossed by the river Po. The north includes highly industrialized regions with a high tourist vocation.
