Janów Heath - Janów-Heide

trail

The Janów Heath (Polish: Puszcza Solska) is a large natural forest area in the voivodeships Lublin and Subcarpathian. It is one of the largest forest areas in the country as well as next to that Łuków Heath and the Solsk Heath, the largest in the Lublin Voivodeship. The heather is in the northeast Sandomirer pool as well as in the southern Roztocze and is located on the northern edge of the river San and is traversed by some of its tributaries. There are numerous streams, swamps and bogs. Much of the heather is protected as a landscape protection park. In prehistoric times the heather formed with the Sandomir Heath and the Solsk Heath a huge contiguous jungle.
